John and Francine Vazquez married 28 years and counting, parents of 6 children, 4 girls, 2 boys. Grandparents to 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
At the beginning of our marriage we visited a few churches, searching for something, a place to call home for our spirits. Several years later we were invited to Unity Baptist Church by my cousin and we found home. We’ve been there serving our Lord for the past 20 years with a hunger for knowledge and a relationship for our Lord, Jesus Christ. We have involved ourselves in the church and became members of the church and a street ministry called The Jericho Project. We are board members of this very fruitful organization which was started 26 years by our Pastor Cruz and we have been with him in the street ministry for the past 17 years. It started as a nightly prayer walk through the Westlake Project by Pastor Cruz and another Pastor. It than grew into becoming a group of dedicated servants of God to bring the church to the streets. Jericho Project goes to places where God is needed in areas that may have had a shooting or the day or week before, we would than saturate the streets with God’s mercy , love and grace to show those in the community that we care, that God cares. We provide live music for their ears to hear, food to nourish their bodies and the Word of God to fill their souls. We fought many battles to keep our faith strong and true, and we know we still have other battles to fight and with the armor of God and His goodness we will continue to follow His instructions to win the war against satan and his demons. We push hard to keep our children, grandchildren abreast on what God has done for us and what He can do for them. We as servants of our Lord can only plant the seed and let Jesus nurture what we put in their hearts. Seven years ago the Lord spoke to me (Francine) in my left ear, to start a ministry on Facebook. When I told my husband, John, what the Lord asked me to do, John said, He told you to start the ministry not me, LOL. I told John it was going to be a family ministry. From that day on The Vazquez Family Ministry was born. We started the Facebook broadcast once or twice a week then several times a week then once a day every day until now we do 2 broadcast a day. We read the Gospel then a reflection of the verse follows. Our Lord has found favor in how His ministry has grown. We are His vessels in spreading His word. We have ventured out to different churches where we provided music from our own equipment that the Lord provided the funds for us to purchase. Our Lord has given us boldness, joy and grace every time we minister out in the community. We are a powerful trio, me, Francine, John and our son Manuel who provides the singing and rapping as part of our ministry. We continue to be blessed as we bless others. The Vazquez Family Ministry will continue our mission as long as our Lord and Savior uses us. We are here to do His work, humbly and obediently.
